Most bearing kits you find on the market for your transmission or transfer case seem like a deal too good to be true. Woudn't a COMPLETE rebuild kit for $80 be great!?!

Problem is, they are not complete rebuild kits. Yes, they will provide most of the roller bearings for your gearbox. But they leave out the most critical, most high wear, and unfortunately more expensive bearings needed in a gearbox rebuild... the needle bearings. These are available only thru Suzuki... not on the aftermarket. Most don't provide all the seals either, maybe a couple or none at all.

When you see one of those inexpensive bearing kits for sale, be guaranteed it is only a partial rebuild kit... and not even the most important part at that. So the question would then be, are you going to take all the time an effort to do a partial rebuild with the odds being you are going to have to go back in and do it again with the pieces that were missing (and pay alot more as a result).... or spend a little more do it right the first time around?
