Yes, you may find cheaper and more poorly designed sliders than Rocky Road, but RRO kits are the best built in our industry, lifetime guarantee, ramped ends instead of ‘ramming’ ends, strong enough to easily handle a Hilift jack (whereas most others will not), bolted mounting systems (NEVER WELDED… a HORRIBLE way to go!), powdercoat finish, available in several different styles and levels of side impact protection.
We use 3/16″ inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything else is just plain flimsy. Any other rocker protection kit for the Durango will be made from thin 1/8″ wall material and a good number of the Durango Rock Sliders we sell are to folks who have bought these thinner bars and have bent them up.
Dodge Durango Rock Sliders
Why hitch steel? Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs? Because we wouldn’t trust anything less to protect our vehicles and neither should you! We made them with an indestructible main slider bar so they’ll last.
Our rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely ‘bolt on’. They mount on the sub-frame as well as along the body seam. Not mounting along the entire seam causes extreme stress with the leverage of an impact on the outer rocker itself. Our design distributes the load across a broad area instead of focusing it on small spots.
You’ll find the Durango rock sliders very attractive and will blend in nicely with your stock flares and moldings. They run fender to fender and many folks have commented on their very OEM (factory) look.
They tuck tighter to the body than any other rocker step on the market as well. In a nutshell, our Dodge Durango rock sliders are the strongest and thickest bars on the market, best mounting system. Why wouldn’t you get a set?
Some folks ask if they can handle a HiLift jack. HA! If a rock slider cannot handle a gentle upward push from a HiLift, how is it supposed to block an assault by a full body slam on a rock??? Our Dodge Durango rock sliders can handle anything and everything you can throw at them.
Dodge Durango Step kits
Our Rock slider kits provide a single main rock slider bar which runs under your rocker panels and doors. This kit tucks in very tight and operates in ‘stealth’ mode.
Superslider kits contain that same main rock slider bar, but also provide additional outer bars welded for more side protection, both offroad and in parking lots! This kit is much more popular than our Rock Slider kits as people really like the looks. The Superslider bar can be used as a step access as well.
Finally, our Kicker Rock Sliders round out the line-up. They also feature the same main slider bar, but with additional side tubing welded on and in the Superslider, AND a flaring section in the rear with a diamond plate cover on that flared out section. This flared out section makes for an excellent step into the rear of the vehicle.
Our Full Cover Kicker rock slider is the same kit, but with diamond plate front to rear as shown in the photos above. This is the ideal kit for those who want a full step platform front to rear along with true rock slider protection. This is the top kit on the market and everyone who sees them just Ooooo’s and Aaaaah’s.
The extra slider tube up top on our Superslider and Kicker kits offer additional side protection on the trail, AND off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Superslider is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Superslider. He just stuck a nice dent in the edge of his door, your Durango still looks cherry!
Shipping
These oversized slider kits must ship by semi-truck freight. As such, they must ship to a commercial location with a loading area suitable for semi-truck delivery (which the freight companies determine… not us). If a suitable commercial drop location is not available to you, then we will arrange for the kit to arrive at a freight terminal nearest your location for you to pick up from.
