OME Tacoma Lift Kit, 1995-97, may not be the tallest lift on the block, but by far the best riding springs on the market. If you’re going for show only… may as well move along. Why drive just another stock truck that looks like every other stock truck on the road when you can make your Tacoma a capable offroad vehicle as well as attention-grabbing head turner!
Some folks might ask why OME suspensions are not available in taller lifts? OME’s philosophy is quality and sensibility without complications. OME sizes their lifts such that there are no problems or modifications required to steering, braking, or drivetrain. Any taller and these items do become an issue. For most people, the extra inch or so isn’t worth all the headache and cost necessary.
PLEASE NOTE: All OME suspensions sit nose-down… all of them, from any retailer. Rocky Road specializes in Toyotas and so we know this is the case and manufacture our own TRIM PACKER kits which help to level your truck when the Old Man Emu suspension is installed. We highly recommend picking up these optional Trim Packers with your OME suspension, or you will most likely be a little bummed at the nose-down stance from the standard OME suspension upgrade.
All Rocky Road kits now include the leveling spacers and differential drops to help reduce wear and tear on your front axles.

Sometimes assembling these struts can be challenging to impossible for folks who want a simple Do-It-Yourself home installation. Rocky Road has the solution! Our kits now come with the option of pre-assembly which makes it so anyone can install the Old Man Emu lift on their own without special equipment. Our preassembled struts come with the new bushings and new genuine Toyota factory strut mount (not cheap aftermarket pieces). Pre-assembly means…Saves 1-2 hours during your suspension installation. Saves you money!
No specialized equipment needed during installation which means many can install this kit at home! All new strut caps and rubber isolators. No need to re-use your existing old rotting pieces for the strut assembly. Our kit gives you all new Toyota strut parts!
If you would like Trim Packers installed into the struts as well, to compensate for Heavy Winch bumpers or simply to raise the front slightly more, please add those in as extra items in the same order.
Tacoma OME Lift Leaf Springs
- Two-Stage Leaf Pack: A primary stage for smooth, comfortable ride when unladen, and secondary stage engaging progressively to provide extra support under heavy cargo or towing.
- Draw-Tapered and Diamond-Cut Leaves: Distributes the load evenly over a larger surface area to reduce high stress points at the ends of the leaves, improving ride quality & spring life.
- Shot-Peened Tension Side: The tension side of each leaf is shot-peened (bombarded with small spherical shots) to reduce internal metal stress, a process that can effectively double the lifespan of the spring.
- Anti-Friction Nylon Liners: Re-greasable nylon pads and interleaf liners sit at the leaf tips to minimize friction where the load is greatest, reduce noise, and prevent squeaking.
- Flat Axle Seat Area: Provides a secure and positive axle mount that lowers localized stress on the spring while maintaining proper arch height.
- Military Wrap Design: Extends the main leaf eyelet wrap to provide an extra layer of safety and structural security in case of primary leaf failure.
- Scragged and Load Tested: Fully scragged (pre-flexed to a permanent set) to eliminate initial settling and drastically reduce the risk of future sagging under load.
Long Travel Prerunner Shock System
- Softer Ride. Low gas pressure makes shocks more forgiving and comfortable for everyday street driving. But valving & construction heavy duty for offroad use & abuse.
- Lower Seal Stress. Low internal pressures place less friction & physical stress on internal seals, extending component life.
- Damage Resistance. If outer casing receives a dent or ding from road debris, inner compression tube remains undamaged, functional.
- Independent Valving Control. Dual-valve designs separate compression and rebound movements, allowing fine-tuning without unwanted side effects on opposing cycles.
- Improved Ride Quality. Advanced valving systems absorb rough road impacts, reduce noise, vibration, & harshness.
- Better Handling and Stability. Nitrogen gas-charging and specialized control technologies reduce vehicle body roll, sway. Also, bounce during sudden lane changes or turns. Better control for higher speed offroad fun.
- Shorter Stopping Distances. Tires firmly planted on pavement helps vehicle brake faster, more securely in emergency, & more traction offroad.
- Extended Component Life. Restoring proper ride control and comfort prevents premature, uneven tire wear. Also, protects fragile steering and suspension parts from excessive shock damage.
- Enhanced Durability. Special anti-corrosion rod coatings, premium oil seals, and robust piston constructions help prevent fluid leaks and extend product lifespan.
- High Velocity Speed Sensitive Valving. The surge in fluid volume forces open internal shims or relief valves (often arranged in a shim stack) to manage the massive spike in energy, turning kinetic motion into controlled thermal heat without creating a dangerously rigid impact.
