Why Bolt on Rock Sliders?
NEVER EVER weld rock sliders to your frame! This ruins rust preventative coating and can lead to torn and buckled frames. AVOID!! Rocky Road 4runner Rock Sliders are the Strongest of the rocker protection world. We use 3/16″ inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything other than hitch steel on the main slider bar is just plain flimsy.
Most other rocker bars are made from thin 1/8″ wall tube material. A lot of shops refer to these as Nerf bars. an appropriate name since they will offer about as much protection to your vehicle as a Nerf toy product would. A good number of the Rockrails

No other rock slider company can, or will offer this guarantee because their mounting system is not strong enough!
Most use brackets which hang BELOW the frame REDUCING clearance. Rock Road kits do NOT reduce clearance even a fraction of an inch. Their mounts look fancy in photos, but on the trail, those other kits reduce clearance!! WTH??! The pictures of those other brand kits look slick… from the bottom, or weird angles that don’t show the height of the kit. Their mount system requires them to push their slider bar INCHES LOWER than our slider bars. Rocky Road Rock Sliders simply tuck tighter and look better once installed.
Rock Sliders for Tacoma, Strongest design
OTHER rock sliders use only round tube, which may look nice at a glance, but simply is not as strong as our Hitch Tube Steel design.
Rocky Road Rock Sliders have a very sleek rounded look about them as we use genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. Hitch steel is not only very strong, it also has a nice radius corner instead of a hard boxy look. Inner hitch steel is the stuff you use to plug into 2″ receiver hitches. Its sheer weight is astronomical as is its bending strength. Our shop press goes to 100 tons and we can’t even start to bend them. Do you think a scrawny little rock can hurt these things? Think again!
Rocky Road Tacoma rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely ‘bolt on’… no cutting, and NO WELDING!! Welding no your frame is a HUGE MISTAKE! Don’t do this. Don’t damage your truck frame.

Most all will run fender to fender and many folks have commented on their very OEM (factory) look. We tuck them very tight to the body to minimize the possibility of getting hung up.
ALL KITS COME POWDERCOATED FREE! All kits come in a sturdy, durable, and very attractive black powdercoated finish at no charge. You’ll find that other Tacoma rock slider manufacturers will sneak in a $100+ powdercoat fee if you choose that option.

Tacoma Rock Slider Options
These rocker bars offer all the strength and warranty of our regular Tacoma rock sliders, but with the added bonus of an additional upper tube. This upper tube can provide even more protection against sliding into rocks, trees, or other trail hazards.
- Standard Rock Sliders – Simple and low profile. Ultimate under rocker protection, but no step or side protection.
- Super Sliders – Features our standard rock slider with additional side protection and small step
- Flat Out Super Sliders – Standard rock slider with a 4″ wide step
- Kicker Sliders – Similar to the Flat Out option except there is an additional “Kicker” at the back end of the slider. The kicker has a diamond plate step
- Kicker Sliders w/Full Cover Panel – Our Kicker slider with diamond plate across the entire surface. Great for small feet and paws
Also, the kits make an excellent step for access to roof racks and such.
All Tacoma rock sliders mount identically to the standard Tacoma rock sliders for the vehicle. Not only good for looks, but more practical for trail use than our competition’s squared off ends.
Tacoma Step and Kicker Sliders
The extra slider tube up top offers additional side protection on the trail and off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Tacoma Rock Sliders is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Tacoma Rock Sliders.
