Most other Tundra rock sliders are made from thin 1/8″ wall tube material. Alot of shops refer to these as Nerf bars. an appropriate name since they will offer about as much protection to your vehicle as a Nerf toy product would.
A good number of the Tundra Rockrails we sell are to those who have actually bought these thinner bars and have bent them up. Even slick looking dual tube designs that appear to offer better protection are still only made from 1/8″ steel and will bend on a hard impact.
Tundra Rock Sliders, 2nd Gen
Our Tundra Rock Sliders have a very sleek rounded look about them as we use genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. Hitch steel is not only very strong, it also has a nice radius corner instead of a hard boxy look. Inner hitch steel is the stuff you use to plug into 2″ receiver hitches. Its sheer weight is astronomical as is its bending strength. Our shop press goes to 100 tons and we can’t even start to bend them. Do you think a scrawny little rock can hurt these things? Think again!
Why hitch steel for construction? Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs? Because we wouldn’t trust anything less to protect our 4WD’s and neither should you! We made them indestructible so they’ll last.
Our Tundra rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely ‘bolt on’.
Best protection Tundra Rock Slider Steps
Not mounting along the entire seam causes extreme stress with the leverage of an impact on the outer rocker itself. Our design distributes the load across a broad area instead of focusing it on small spots.
We use existing mounting holes whenever possible to minimize drilling on the vehicle. However, we don’t sacrifice mounting strength so save a couple holes. We tuck them very tight to the body to minimize the possibility of getting hung up. Rocky Road Supersliders… EXCELLENT side protection, and they work well for a step on the side of the truck!
All kits come in a sturdy, durable, and very attractive black powdercoat electrostatic and baked powdercoat finish.
Our Tundra Rock Sliders have been installed and reviewed always with the highest marks by offroad magazines, websites, chat forums, etc. Rocky Road Rockrails are the strongest, thickest, and most protective bars on the market, with best mounting system.
The extra slider tube up top offers additional side protection on the trail and off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Superslider/ Kicker slider is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Superslider. He just stuck a nice dent in the edge of his door, your Toy still looks cherry!

Notice Rocky Road rock slider kit. See the beveled edge? The nice 45* ramp which would slide up and over any rock or stump on the trail? Its takes more time and effort to manufacture the kits this way, but that’s all included with the Rocky Road kits.
Also notice how much further down other kits hang. Rocky Road rock sliders always tuck up nice and tight no matter what the vehicle!
These rocker bars offer all the strength and warranty of our regular Tundra rock sliders, but with the added bonus of an additional upper tube. This upper tube can provide even more protection against sliding into rocks, trees, or other trail hazards.

They also make an excellent step for access to roof racks and such. All Tundra rock sliders mount identically to the standard Tundra rock sliders for the vehicle. Not only good for looks, but more practical for trail use than our competition’s squared off ends.
Shipping
These oversized truck slider kits must ship by semi-truck freight. As such, they must ship to a commercial location with a loading area suitable for semi-truck delivery (which the freight companies determine… not us). If a suitable commercial drop location is not available to you, then we will arrange for the kit to arrive at a freight terminal nearest your location for you to pick up from.
