As you may be aware with your Jeep, the flimsy factory mount system is weak. This makes it very tough to carry additional equipment that weighs more than about 30lbs. These may all right if you just want to carry a couple sleeping bags. Much more though and you will find out how flimsy these Jeep factory plastic roof rails are.
The only solution, New steel roof rails. These, to which you can mount our Adventure rack, or our Crossbar kit. To those, you can use some Yakima and Thule rack accessories as well as our own assortment of accessories.
WK Roof Rail Heavy Duty Construction
Our new beefy steel rail kit bolts directly to the factory bolt holes up on top of your roof. They are VERY easy to install. No special tools needed. Everyone can do it themselves in just a couple minutes. You simply remove the stock bolts inside your tracks. Our kit with new longer stainless steel bolts will simply bolt right back into place.
The Rocky Road steel rails provide a VERY strong mounting system for the top of your Jeep. Whether you are using our Adventure rack, the Crossbar kit, or any other roof rack mounted systems, our steel rails are an excellent upgrade which will dramatically increase the functionality of your Jeep’s rack system… and is simply light years beyond what Jeep came up with as a factory solution.
The new complete roof rail kits come with rubber pads which mount between the rails and your roof to protect the paint from metal-on-metal contact, as a part of the complete hardware installation pack.
We absolutely encourage you to check out our Adventure rack kit as well which compliment our roof rails perfectly. Rocky Road helps you get the most out of your Jeep Grand Cherokee for any adventure!
